The following position is anticipated to be available September 1, 2026 Position: Regular Sub AIS Reading Teacher 9/1/2026-2/2/27, on or about Ability to remain as a Perm Sub for the remainder of the year Location: West School Effective: September 1, 2026 – February 2, 2027 on or about Certification: Reading K-12, Literacy (B-6), or Literacy (All grades) Qualifications: Knowledge of approaches to elementary reading instruction Experience with using multiple sources of data to determine student needs for reading instruction Demonstrate understanding of differentiation of reading instruction and learning material Knowledge of culturally responsive texts and how to use them with young readers Has a “toolbox” of strategies to develop relationships with learners in elementary school Experience using technology with students as tools for learning, including Google Suite (Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Slides, Jamboard) Willingness to collaborate with fellow educators and department members A strong commitment to professional learning and growth Compensation: As per Group A contract $74,542, Step 1*subject to negotiations Perm Sub rate $250.76 per day *subject to negotiations Apply: Online at www.olasjobs.org Posting date: August 12, 2026 Closing date: August 14, 2026 LONG BEACH PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
