The Long Beach School District, based on the South Shore of Nassau County, serves students from Long Beach, East Atlantic Beach, Lido Beach, Point Lookout and high school students from Island Park. A total of 3,400 students are enrolled in prekindergarten to grade 12. The following positions are anticipated to be available beginning September 1, 2026: Positions: Probationary Elementary Teacher • West School Regular Substitute Elementary Teacher Leave Replacement (9/1/26-6/30/27) • Lindell School Qualifications: • Prior classroom teaching experience • A strong literacy background including the implementation of the TC Reading and Writing Program preferred • A thorough knowledge of the Next Generation Standards and implementing their instructional shifts in the classroom • A strong mathematics background, especially in the Next Generation Standards and concept-driven math instruction; Familiarity with the I-Ready program and curriculum preferred • An understanding of Social-Emotional Learning and how it affects student engagement and achievement • A collaborative educator has worked well with colleagues, parents and students • An understanding of the RtI/MTSS model for supporting struggling learners and the role data plays in informing instruction • An understanding of technology and how it can be incorporated into classroom instruction • Ability to teach using Google Classroom Certification: Childhood Education 1-6 with Early Childhood Education B-2 or Pre K-6 Compensation: According to the LBCTA contract, MA/Step 1 $74,542 *(subject to negotiations) Apply: Online at www.olasjobs.org Posting date: March 20, 2026 Closing date: April 14, 2026
