Location: Lido School Description: Job duties may include assisting students with tasks like eating, using the bathroom, transitioning throughout the school building. In addition, assistants are often called upon to provide instructional support. Support students with activities of daily living including, toileting, eating and helping with outerwear. May monitor and record student’s academic performance or behavior. Works closely with teachers to adapt materials to fit the needs of their students. These positions are needed to support our special education classes. Qualifications: For this position, the teacher assistant needs to have experience in implementing needed accommodations and modification to support students with special needs. Implementation of behavioral strategies under the direction of the special education teacher. Experience with data collection, ability to assist with technology in the classroom, willingness to assist with activities of daily living and to provide physical support for students in crisis. Ability to facilitate small groups under the direction of the teacher. Ability to provide positive behavioral supports and ability to work well with others. Certification: Teacher Assistant License or Special Education Teaching Certification, ABA training and experience. Compensation: According to Group C contract
