Long Beach City Schools is seeking a PK-12 Director to sustain a thriving culture of Literacy. Candidates must have at least seven years of successful teaching experience and hold valid New York State certification in administration (SDA or SDL). Leadership experience as an administrator, professional developer, and/or coach is preferred. The expertise and responsibilities required of this position include, but are not limited to: Supervising PK-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessments for English Language Arts, Literacy Interventions, Library, and Media Literacy. Observing and evaluating literacy teaching and learning PK-12. Working with our leadership team and teachers and students to close achievement gaps in early elementary school. Collaborating with district and school leaders to enhance literacy. Supporting and overseeing district literary publications and student participation in literacy competitions. Promoting a positive culture around literacy through effective community-wide collaboration, celebration, and special programming. Designing and delivering professional development to promote teacher growth and enhance program effectiveness.Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 (Commensurate with experience)
