Location: Lindell School-September 1, 2023-June 30, 2024Qualifications: For this position, the teacher needs to provide specially designed instruction to address students’ IEP Goals. They will adapt, as appropriate, to the needs of an eligible student, the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction to address the unique needs that result from the student's disability; and to ensure access of the student to the general curriculum, so that he or she can meet the educational standards that apply to all students. Training in one or more methodologies of explicit reading instruction, for example, Orton Gillingham based methodology, LLI, Just words, Seeing Stars is preferred. The teacher should have experience in implementing needed accommodations and modifications to support students with special needs. The candidate would need to possess qualifications for differentiating instruction to address variable learning needs and to remediate students’ areas of deficit. Familiarity with a reading methodology and next generation standards for ELA and math is preferred. Candidate should also have a repertoire of behavioral strategies and be able to provide a high level of structure and support for the students. Experience with evaluating students with disabilities, writing IEPs, data collection and familiarity with IEP Direct preferred.Certification: NYS Special Education Certification K-12 or Students with Disabilities 1-6.
