VACANCY: Assistant Principal EFFECTIVE: August 30, 2022 LOCATION: Walter Panas High School TYPE: Probationary REQUIRED: New York State certification: School Administrator/Supervisor or School Building Leader QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates will demonstrate: A dynamic, high energy leadership style with a successful background in secondary education;A thorough understanding of the New York State Learning Standards, Common Core Curriculum, anddemonstrated ability to effectively evaluate for the improvement of instruction;Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in elementary or secondary education including differentiation, Response to Intervention and Professional Learning Communities;Strong knowledge of Code of Conduct and ability to manage student behavior including at-risk students;Experience with student discipline;Experience with scheduling and managing student information;Experience supervising academic and extracurricular activities;Background or experience in fostering school-community relations;Knowledge or experience in working with at-risk students and their families;Experience or ability to provide parent training opportunities to support academic success;Habits of administration capable of encouraging professional cooperation and enthusiasm to meet current demands for excellence in public education;Knowledge of the Lakeland Central School District and community. PREFERRED: Knowledge of the Lakeland Central School District and community. SALARY: Per ALA agreement.
