POSITION: Special Education SupervisorTYPE OF POSITION: Probationary Appointment EFFECTIVE: August 15, 2022LOCATION: DistrictwideDESCRIPTION: Special Education Supervisor works with the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services, other Special Education Supervisors, and building administrators to supervise the special education program and certified professional staff in assigned schools. QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates will demonstrate: A successful background in special education with prior administrative experience preferredComprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instructional methodology including differentiationKnowledge of State and Federal regulations pertaining to the implementation and delivery of services for students with disabilitiesAbility to communicate effectively with excellent writing and public speaking skillsExperience observing and evaluating staff to increase student achievementExperience chairing CSE and sub-CSE meetings with ability to develop appropriate individualized education programs that address student needsHabits of administration capable of encouraging professional cooperation and enthusiasm to meet current demands for excellence in special education REQUIRED: NYS certification: SDA or SDL, and one or more of the following Special Education, Students with Disabilities, School Psychologist, School Social WorkerSALARY: Per ALA agreement
