VACANCY: Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Lakeland Central School District The Lakeland Central School District Board of Education is seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of education in our district and ensure all students achieve their full potential. Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction will provide visionary leadership for all educational programs, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. This individual will be responsible for supporting principals and school staff in key areas, including student achievement, curriculum implementation, assessment strategies, data-driven decision-making, strategic planning, and staff supervision. As a vital member of the Superintendent's cabinet, the Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with colleagues to advance the district's vision, mission, core beliefs, and goals. A proven track record of success as a school district administrator is highly desired. Responsibilities: Provide leadership and support for all instructional programs, ensuring alignment with the district's strategic plan and vision. Supervise and evaluate principals and other instructional staff. Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and assessment programs. Lead the district's efforts in data analysis and data-driven decision making to improve student outcomes. Collaborate with the Superintendent and other cabinet members to develop and manage the district's budget related to instruction, including grants and fiscal oversight.Ensure compliance with New York State Teaching and Learning Standards, Board of Regents guidance, and all mandated state and federal regulations. Lead the development and implementation of high-quality professional development programs for instructional staff. Foster strong relationships with parents, community members, and other stakeholders.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications: Valid New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification required. Master's Degree required; Doctoral degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience. Demonstrated leadership experience in school improvement, instructional resource development, staff evaluation, and data analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with directors, staff, committees, and councils. Strong understanding of instructional technology and its integration into the learning environment. Experience with budget management, grant writing, and fiscal oversight. Proven ability to plan and execute effective professional development programs.
