Lakeland Central School District is seeking a Purchase Clerk. Under supervision of the Business Administrator, this employee performs work that involves the processing and preparation of bids and purchases of equipment and commodities for the district. Reviews and analyzes district budget. This employee works closely with vendors regarding pricing, merchandise shipments, payment of bills and merchandise charges. Good knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment as well as being able to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email and database software is required. Minimum acceptable training and experience: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience, one year of which must have involved clerical procedures related to purchasing, requisitioning and/or bidding activities. Satisfactory completion of 30 college credits may be substituted for one (1) year of the general clerical experience. There is no substitution for the one (1) year of experience that involved clerical procedures related to purchasing, requisitioning and/or bidding activities. This is a 12 month position. Hours: M-F Salary: $46,714 - $72,227.
