Director of Recruitment, Retention and Equity The Director of Recruitment, Retention and Equity holds a mission-critical role of ensuring the district strives to recruit a dynamic and diverse work force in all areas in alignment with the Board of Education goals. The Director will support administrative recruitment, screening and interviewing to ensure unbiased procedures and hiring. The Director will also conduct professional development on best practices in hiring and recruitment to administration. This position will engage local, state and national organizations to promote the Kingston City School District for prospective employees. This position will also serve as a supervisor and advisor to many leaders in the organization. Reports to: Superintendent of Schools Salary: As per ASPA contract - $115,000 - $125,000 Start Date: TBD QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree with training in areas of school leadership, supervision, curriculum, and educational philosophy. Possess a New York State School District Leader certification. A minimum of 5 years classroom experience and 2 years building, or central office leadership is preferred. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for the position: Knowledge of the administrative/support services which a school system provides.Ability to interpret and implement all Board policies, administrative regulations and negotiated agreements.Knowledge of governmental statues, regulations, and rules related to employment, tenure, and collective bargaining.Administer the school district’s mission, vision, and core values and goals. Ability to prepare district level reports requested by the assistant superintendents/superintendent.Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with administrators, parents, teachers, and community-based organizations.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds.Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and to meet deadlines.Please complete the OLAS online professional employment application Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate systems, policies, and practices to ensure they meet the needs of diverse populations in the school community including students, families, and employeesWork in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent to recruit and retain candidates of color and lead the district’s mentoring program for newly hired personnel?Conduct routine analysis of data (e.g., hiring, surveys as appropriate) to identify strengths and areas for improvementProvide support and coaching. Engage in collaboration with all district leaders to assess the challenges and opportunities and implement culturally responsive strategiesFoster community relationships and create access pathways for underrepresented groupsExpand upon institutional partnerships that advance the diversity, equity and inclusion goals of the districtPresent proposals and reports to all KCSD stakeholders and community partners as requiredConduct a Diverse Educators Recruitment/Job Fair annually and represent KCSD at local and statewide education job fairsParticipate in the screening and interviewing of new employeesFacilitate the Educators of Color NetworkMaintain employee equity inventoryEvaluate teachers, assistant principals, and assistant directorsCollaborate with Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Act as district liaison between Brothers@Bard and the KCSDOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent
