Involving the processing of records necessary to prepare school district payroll, related financial tasks and clerical tasks in the preparation of payrolls. Assist in maintaining payroll records for the district employees, including but not limited to computing, recording, and entering all payroll related data on the worksheets and into the computer; prepare detailed payroll schedules for new employees; run bi-weekly payroll in the absence of the payroll supervisor, promote the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of the Business Department when there is a need. Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Payroll Supervisor and Assistant Superintendent of Business. Qualifications: Graduation from High School or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and One (1) year of clerical experience which shall have involved the processing of payrolls. Candidate must currently be certified as a Payroll Clerk or be a successful candidate on the City of Kingston Municipal Civil Service Exam for Payroll Clerk, date TBD.
