Distinguishing Features of the Class:This position involves considerable independent responsibility for accurate and efficient management of departmental financial and operating affairs. The duties are performed under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Business. The incumbent of this position works closely with clerical assistants, building administrators, and department directors throughout the district.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Thorough knowledge of modem business administration procedures and equipment;Ability to readily acquire familiarity with the laws, policies, regulations, practices, functions, and personnel of the department; Ingenuity and resourcefulness in handling administrative problems; Tact and Courtesy; Good judgement; Ability to present written and oral comments and opinions clearly and concisely; Thoroughness and dependability; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(a) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate's degree and two (2) years of clerical, administrative or office management experience which shall have involved maintaining electronic records in a database or spreadsheet application and preparing reports; or(b) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years clerical, administrative or office management experience which shall have involved maintaining electronic records in a database or spreadsheet application and preparing reports;(c) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).
