Special Education Teacher – Elementary Anticipated - Three (3) Positions Available Hours: Full-time (10 month) Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2026 Salary: $64,276 - $152,199 as per the KLDTA contract Qualifications: NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher required. Grades K-12 Students with Disabilities certification is preferred. Skilled in developing IEPs. Responsibilities: Experience in a reading intervention program such as Wilson or Orton-Gillingham. Experience with Integrated Co-Teach (ICT) preferred. Prepare lesson plans that achieve clear objectives, implements specially designed instruction, and uses appropriate program modifications and accommodations. Skilled in data-driven progress monitoring with goals that are student-specific and informed by various data points. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws. Fosters family and guardian engagement. Collaborates and communicates with colleagues, parents, and administration to best meet the needs of students. Develops clear, engaging, and relevant lesson plans that appropriately challenge students and reflect current pedagogy. Committed to student-centered and student-driven learning experiences with opportunities for student voice and choice. Actively participates in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing, collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice. Works with colleagues to analyze student data, share best practices, and implement research-based strategies that improve student outcomes.
