Location: John Jay High School Anticipated Start Date: April 6, 2026, through June 30, 2026 Hours: Full-Time, Temporary Salary and Benefits: Long-term substitute teachers work 30 days or more but less than five months and are compensated $110/day for the first 30 days; on the 31 st day (assuming the prior 30 days were consecutive workdays) the daily rate is increased to $317.42, retroactive to the first day of the assignment. Qualifications: NYS Health and Physical Education certification is required. Responsibilities: Exhibits knowledge of NY State Standards. Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of students and nurtures a sense of belonging. Actively participates in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing, collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice. Works with colleagues to analyze student data, share best practices, and implement research-based strategies that improve student outcomes.
