KLSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the probationary position of Elementary Therapeutic Special Education Teacher, Grades K-5, at Meadow Pond Elementary School beginning September 1, 2025.Qualifications & Responsibilities: NYS SWD (Grade K-5) certification required.Elementary experience.Skilled in developing IEPs.Experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans.Experience with therapeutic classroom-based approaches preferred.Knowledge of/or training in DBT a plus.Training in CPI or TCI is highly desirable.Prepare lesson plans that achieve clear objectives, implements specially designed instruction, and uses appropriate program modifications and accommodations.Fosters family and guardian engagement.Actively participates in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing, collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice.Works with colleagues to analyze student data, share best practices, and implement research-based strategies that improve student outcomes. Hours: Full-time (10 month) Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2025 Salary: $62,699 - $141,489 as per the KLDTA contract
