The Katonah-Lewisboro School District is searching for a skilled educator to fill the role of district-wide Instructional Coach. This position will involve implementing aspects of Jim Knight’s “Impact Cycle” which guides teachers in setting and achieving meaningful student-centered goals. While expertise in Instructional Technology is preferred for this position, it is not the only factor considered in candidate selection. Responsibilities include: Leveraging aspects of a research-based instructional coaching model to engage staff in reflective conversations around teaching and student learning Coordinating with administrators and district committees to meet the needs of staff and students Modeling instruction and teaching demonstration lessons for colleagues Collaborating with other staff and outside consultants on the development, delivery, and assessment of professional development Sharing current research about best practices Assisting staff in analyzing student work Creating coaching opportunities by using interpersonal skills that enable one to develop collaborative relationships with teachers. Leading workshops with grade and department colleagues in coordination with district administration. Working in classrooms to model the use of instructional technology, and to advance the goals of the district technology plan.Facilitating Professional Learning Communities.Engaging in K-12 work as specified by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. Characteristics of successful candidates will include the ability to: Lead with emotional intelligence and highly attuned listening skills. Empower, partner and collaborate with colleagues in authentic conversations revolving around student performance. Center the student experience and student outcomes. Be flexible and respond to evolving needs of the district and schools. Successful candidates will have: The willingness to gain perspective that spans vertically and horizontally, K-12.Working knowledge of NYSED Standards (including but not limited to ISTE, Technology Standards, and the DF/CS Learning Standards).A strong understanding of Problem-Based Learning, Universal Design for Learning principles, and authentic assessment practices.A strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and be a self-directed learner.A general understanding of impactful instructional strategies and concepts. The ability to build relationships and engage in reflective inquiry with colleagues.A proven history of successful classroom teaching, expertise in instructional practice, and interest in innovation.Interest and experience in curriculum development and professional development.Flexibility and availability for summer and after school work. The Staff Developer will report directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. All tenure areas considered. Anticipated Start Date: November 12, 2024Hours: Full-Time, (10 month)Salary and Benefits: $62,699 - $141,489 as per the KLDTA contract
