The School Business Official serves as the financial manager to the Superintendent of Schools. He/she/they are responsible for managing all phases of the financial operations including budgeting, purchasing, accounting, cash management, state aid, and other financial reporting. In addition, he/she/they provides the budgeting and supervision of district-wide administrative services including transportation, operations and maintenance, food service, and insurance risk programs. He/she/they negotiates contracts with the district faculty, clerical, custodial, maintenance, mechanics, food service and transportation units. The School Business Official has an understanding of the educational vision of the school/district and works with the Board of Education and Administrative Team to realize that vision through the district Strategic Plan. Applicants must hold a NYS School District Business Leader certification or be eligible through Onondaga County Civil Service requirements.
