We are currently seeking a ENL/Special Education Teacher for our Longwood UPK Program. The ideal candidate will travel to 10 UPK buildings to meet communication needs of children who are bilingual or come from a non-English-speaking households.QUALIFICATIONS· Master’s Degree· NYS Teaching Certification: Special Education (Birth-Grade 2)· ENL or TESOL Certification/experience preferred.· Prior experience teaching English Language Learners.· Expertise in differentiation of instruction to support the success of all students.· Proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written strongly preferred.· Experience working with students with language needs and disabilities, including those with speech/language delays, learning disabilities, behavioral needs, and autism spectrum disorders.· Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.· Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.Job Duties· Enhance communication with children who are bilingual or come from non-English-speaking households, ensuring that they receive personalized and effective classroom support· Provide staff support in regard to behavior/classroom management and the data collection/identification of students who require CPSE referrals for the District UPK students at ten (10) locations and twenty-eight (28) total classrooms as directed by the District· Work closely with the District and Just Kids administration and inform them of daily updates, etc.· Work with the classroom staff by providing “hands-on” coaching in the classroom setting to ensure that all Tier 1 supports are implemented; model implementation of these supports for classroom staff members· Work with classroom teams and model best practices listed on the Informal Classroom Walk-through; support staff to ensure that items listed on the walk-through are evident in the classroom· Mentor new classroom staff and assist them with establishing and implementing daily schedules and procedures, Tier 1 supports, and developmentally appropriate instruction· Maintain a log of support for each classroom· Be available to meet with staff for mentoring/coaching· Assist in the implementation of curriculum and supports for classrooms· Maintain ongoing communication with building administration/Leadership Team; collaborate with UPK Coordinator if areas of training are needed· Travel to 10 UPK building locations (total of 28 classrooms) to meet the communication needs of children who are bilingual or come from non-English-speaking households· Ability to perform an array of physical duties involving lifting (up to 40 lbs.), carrying, pushing/pulling (including equipment, walking, standing, kneeling, climbing, etc.).Job Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per yearSchedule: Monday to FridayEducation: Master's (Required)License/Certification: NYS Teaching Certificate: Special Education (Birth-Grade 2 (Required)ENL or TESOL Certification (Required)Willingness to travel: 50% (Required)Work Location: In person
