Our Baldwin site is in need of an assistant principal. We are seeking for someone who will assist the Principal in leadership, direction, and supervision of the building and all its programs. The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal and the Assistant Executive Director. The position includes the duties and responsibilities below and any other functions as assigned by the Principal and the Assistant Executive Director.Qualifications:A Master’s Degree (minimum): appropriate NYS administrative certificate in Educational Administration or enrollment in an Administrative Program.A minimum of five years teaching experience.Such alternative to the above qualifications as Just Kids may find applicable.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with leadership for the development, implementation, improvement and evaluation of the instructional program-ensuring conformance to New York State Learning Standards, Just Kids Mission and Philosophy, OCFS Standards, NYS Special Education Policy and Regulations, Early Intervention Policy and the general policies and procedures of Just Kids Learning Center.Responsible for the supervision of Teachers and Teacher Aides, and One-to OnesImplementation overseer of the Creative CurriculumReview IEP goal trackingCoordinate staff assignments with the Principal to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies regarding ratio.Interview potential classroom staff with the Principal.Meet and Coordinate with Department Supervisors as necessary.Assist the Principal with the documentation for any classroom disciplinary issues.Assist the Principal with the documentation for any teacher disciplinary issues.Assist the Principal with student enrollment for Day Care and UPK.Meet with the Principal as needed but not less than one time per week to discuss building level issues.Meet with other building Principals, Assistant Principals, and the Assistant Executive Director for strategic planning meetings monthly.Attend and participate in all scheduled supervisors’ meetings.Confer with teachers, therapists, and parents concerning educational and behavioral concerns in school.Review with the Principal all materials requests and teacher reimbursement forms.Conduct performance evaluations for all teachers with input from the PrincipalAssist with the provision of professional development and staff training for all teachers including OCFS mandated training hours.Review all teacher generated paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with Just Kids standards.Assist the Principal with orientation of new staff and families.Professional BehaviorCooperate and conduct self in a manner appropriate for preschool.Adhere to Just Kids program specific policies and procedures.Assist the Principal and collaborate with the other department Supervisors to resolve any and all staffing conflicts.Maintain child, family, and employee confidentiality.Demonstrate flexibility as well as the ability to multi-task and stay calm in a crisis.Assist in making reasonable accommodations for special groups, i.e., hearing impaired, physically challenged and/or visually impaired.Exhibit the “At Your Service” attitude, i.e., smiles, uses positive eye contact, is open, friendly and approachable to staff, families and visitors.
