Join our vibrant therapy team serving young children with a range of developmental and medical disabilities in a center-based inclusive preschool program. Our play based program runs on a 10 month school schedule with the option to work a six week summer session. Position Summary The Physical Therapist provides direct, student-centered services to preschool-aged children in an inclusive educational setting. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality therapy aligned with each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), conducting evaluations, and collaborating closely with families and multidisciplinary team members. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, creativity, and a commitment to supporting children of all abilities in accessing their learning environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, flexibility, and a collaborative approach within a fast-paced school setting. Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8:45am - 4:15pm Pay : $57,749/10 months, 37.5 hours/week, $66,633 annually if working full-time through summer Key Responsibilities Deliver direct therapy sessions based on assigned caseload and IEP requirements. Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluations for new students. Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including daily notes, IEP updates, and letters of justification. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student goals. Fit, monitor, and maintain adaptive equipment as needed. Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings. Assist with other school or classroom needs as assigned. Qualifications Licensed Physical Therapist in New York State (required). Experience with preschool or pediatric populations is preferred but not necessary. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to maintain a consistent schedule. Commitment to inclusive, child-centered therapy practices. Physical Requirements Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while completing documentation or meeting with families and staff. Frequent movement throughout the school building, including classrooms, offices, and playground areas. Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials and equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to engage in floor-level and outdoor interactions with young children. Sufficient vision and hearing to observe, communicate, and maintain safety within a classroom and community setting. Capacity to manage occasional high-stress situations calmly and professionally, including crisis intervention or emergency response.
