Position: Substitute Teacher Work Schedule: 7.5 hours per day, including a paid lunch Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour – NYS Certified Teachers $17.00 per hour – Non-Certified Candidates Position Summary The Substitute Teacher provides classroom coverage for absent teachers and supports a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. The substitute teacher follows lesson plans and school procedures, supervises students, and maintains continuity of instruction during the regular teacher’s absence. Qualifications NYS Certified Candidates Current New York State teaching certification preferred/required as applicable to the assignment. Classroom teaching experience is preferred. Non-Certified Candidates College coursework or a degree in education or a related field is referred. Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred. Assignments may be available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels based on district needs.
