Johnson City Central School DistrictDirector of Student Support & Family ServicesThe Director of Student Support & Family Services supervises and works directly with:K-12 School CounselorsK-12 School Social WorkersK-12 NursesK-12 ENL TeachersThe Director of Student Support & Family Services is responsible for:Supervising and coordinating the student and staff pupil personnel component of the school district, ensuring that the educational needs of students are met and all compliance issues as related thereto are addressed.Coordinating the family services component of the school district.Advocating for the needs of non-English speaking students and families (ELLs).Assisting the Principals, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent in providing relevant professional learning to support the social-emotional growth of students.Coordinating and supporting the system for initial identification of ELLs.Overseeing the implementation and monitoring of the district’s school counselor plan, health services, and social worker programming. Initiating and developing education programs and supportive services to meet the needs of our students.Budgeting & Fiscal Management of district wide student support.Briefing the Superintendent and Board of the Education with data, updates and regular reports.Collaboratively advancing a vision of inclusion, equity, and excellence for all students.Coordinating the program evaluation and planning components of the school district, as well as completing and filing state reports.Functioning as the Special Grants Coordinator for the school district, keeping informed of all state and federal opportunities for special funding.Implementing the school district’s policies related to equity for all students.Maintaining applicable records and submitting all reports to state and federal agencies as they relate to ELLs and other applicable pupil personnel service areas.Orienting new staff regarding all student support programs.Leadership of the central registration process for the district.Collaborating with the district’s lead ENL teacher to coordinate all aspects of the programming for ELLs and to support K-12 ENL staff.Providing procedures for homebound instruction.Serving as the district’s homeless liaison.Annually setting the goals and action steps for student support, staff, and family services programs.Working with principals and central office administration to coordinate and monitor the implementation of all programs, including the recruitment, assignment, and evaluation of applicable staff.Implementing a viable system of maximizing parent and community engagement with school programs.Development and oversight of the district’s Community Schools programPerform other related duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.This position comes with a high competitive, comprehensive benefits package.
