Island Trees School District, Nassau County, is seeking two outstanding candidates to serve our students and school community as leave replacement teachers. Position 1: Grade 6Expected Length of Leave: 9/5/23-11/1/23Required Certification: K-6 Position 2: Grade 5Expected Length of Leave: 12/11/23-2/5/24Required Certification: K-6 * The successful candidate may be considered for both the 5th & 6th grade leave replacement positions. Candidates should possess a strong math and literacy background, a strong knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards, and be certified to teach K-6. Candidates should have an appreciation for the specific needs of early literacy learners, and an instructional toolkit that will foster critical thinking, cross-curricular experiences, and opportunities for students to grow their skills and knowledge.
