Recreation Aide/Coach (Kindergarten - Grade 4)Position Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Recreation Aide to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing, supervising, and engaging kindergarten through grade 4 students in recreational games and activities during recess. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young children, has a positive attitude, and can create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement a variety of recreational activities and games appropriate for children in grades K-4 (both indoor and *outdoor)Supervise students during recess, ensuring safety, engagement, and positive interactions among students.Encourage active participation and foster teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.Use positive reinforcement techniques to support appropriate behavior.Manage equipment and maintain a safe, clean, and organized play environment.Monitor students for safety and well-being, addressing minor issues or injuries as needed and reporting more serious incidents to appropriate personnel.Collaborate with school staff to coordinate activities and align with school policies.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education, recreation, or related fields is a plus.Experience working with young children in an educational, recreational, or camp setting.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to connect with children and encourage positive behavior.Knowledge of safe play practices and the ability to identify and prevent potential hazards.*The position involves working outdoors during recess hours. The Recreation Aide should be prepared for various weather conditions and will be active, requiring physical stamina to supervise and engage in recreational activities.Hours: 11:00AM - 2:00PM daily during the School Year
