Elementary Computer Teacher Leave Replacement Immediate through June 25, 2025 NYS Perm ElEd Certification Required or Initial/Prof Childhood Ed Grades 1-6Computer and Multi-Media Teaching Exp Required Job Description:The Elementary Computer Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate computer science and digital literacy lessons to students in grades K-4. This position requires an educator who can creatively integrate technology into the classroom, while fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students. The teacher will collaborate with other educators to develop a curriculum that aligns with our district’s strategic goals and enhances students’ understanding and skills in computer science, digital citizenship, and technology use. Key Responsibilities:Plan and implement engaging computer science lessons that promote digital literacy, critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills.Teach students fundamental computer skills, including typing, coding, internet safety, and the use of educational software.Integrate technology across various subjects to support the district’s mission and curriculum goals.Encourage and model positive digital citizenship and ethical use of technology.Assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback to students, parents, and administrators.Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lessons and share best practices.Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s overall educational environment.
