The Irvington Union Free School District seeks a full-time, probationary STEAM Teacher for Irvington High School (9-12). Irvington High School offers a sequence of courses within the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering Pathway, where students engage in hands-on design, problem solving, and applied engineering challenges. The successful candidate will help students develop the habits of inquiry, creativity, and persistence that are central to both engineering and the broader goals of STEAM education. Teaching and learning at Irvington High School are guided by The Irvington Way , which emphasizes intellectual curiosity, thoughtful dialogue, and meaningful engagement with ideas. We are seeking an educator who can create a classroom environment where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to explore complex problems through design and innovation. Responsibilities include: teach courses within the PLTW Engineering Pathway, and others as assigned; design and facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences; support students in developing critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills; collaborate with colleagues to strengthen interdisciplinary STEAM opportunities; contribute to a school culture that values curiosity, creativity, and academic risk-taking. Qualifications: Valid New York State teaching certification in an area aligned with STEAM education (i.e. Technology Education, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another related field). Interest in and/or experience with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is preferred; PLTW training will be provided.
