July 30, 2026 ANTICIPATED OPENING: SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027 Teaching Assistant - COSMETOLOGY The successful candidate will support the cosmetology instructor in creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment that prepares students for success in the cosmetology profession while fostering professionalism, safety, and student achievement. CERTIFICATIONS : Teaching Assistant Certification Hold a current New York State Cosmetology License Responsibilities : Assist the cosmetology instructor in providing hands-on instruction and demonstrations in both classroom and salon/lab settings. Support students during practical learning experiences while reinforcing safe and professional salon practices. Prepare, organize, and maintain cosmetology equipment, supplies, and instructional materials. Monitor student participation and provide academic and behavioral support to promote student success. Assist with classroom management and supervision to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Reinforce sanitation, infection control, and safety procedures in accordance with New York State cosmetology standards. Supervise students during laboratory activities, including the proper use and care of tools and equipment. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional cosmetology lab and classroom environment. Collaborate with the instructor and school staff to support individualized student needs and instructional goals.
