Job Title: Assistant PrincipalPosition: District Wide AdministratorInitial Assignment: High SchoolSalary: Regionally CompetitiveApplication Deadline: 11/22/22Anticipated Position Start Date: 12/19/22 The Assistant Intermediate School Principal is directly responsible for the following duties:Assisting in the administration and supervision of programs, services and facilities of the school.Assisting in the planning, coordination, implementation and improvement of the educational programs and assessments at a building level in collaboration with the district-wide administrative team.Assisting in the evaluation of faculty and staff members.Assisting with the orientation and in-service for all new building personnel.Assisting with the orientation and support for all new building personnel as well as new students and parents.Coordinating building and facility usage.Enforcing all provisions of education law and policies of the Board of Education related to the management of the school including, but not limited to DASA, emergency procedures, and building/district Codes of Conduct.Attending professional meetings and conferences that pertain to the position.Assisting in the establishment of a positive building climate for the staff members, students, parents and community. Performing any additional duties, while administering and supervising all activities in the Building Principal's absence.Qualifications:Successful candidates must currently hold NYS certification in SDL, SAS or SBL.Candidates must have:A clear educational philosophy including appropriate classroom/student management strategiesStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skillsThorough understanding of school operations including classroom and behavioral managementElementary classroom and/or administration experienceAbility to coordinate building/campus activitiesWorking knowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectivenessAbility to implement District policy and proceduresAbility to interpret data and facilitate data drive decision making.
