Prospective applicants should have certification in and have demonstrated significant background experience in providing reading or literacy instruction to elementary students, to include successful classroom experience. In addition, prospective applicants should have experience teaching adult learners and be able to apply the curricular design and instructional strategies in the content areas of Reading/Literacy: Literacy Collaborative/Intermediate Balanced Literacy, Constructivism, Understanding by Design, and Universal Design for Learning, Professional Learning Communities, Differentiated Instruction, Data Driven Instruction and effective use of technology to improve student achievement.Position Description: The Literacy Coach will provide professional development, coaching and consultation to instructional staff responsible for general services to students district-wide in the Intermediate School (grades 4-5) and Middle School (primarily grade 6) with occasional support and guidance at the secondary (7-12) and early primary levels (K-3).
