In addition, they will be focused on assisting and collaborating with District administration and staff in the implementation of District initiatives, priorities and goals. Successful candidates must possess strong communication skills; exceptional knowledge of instructional practices; ability to collaborate well with all stakeholders and a record of successful experience in education. Oversees the daily activities and operations within our ENL/SIFE programs and regular meetings within the department to review data, discuss needs, and target growth. Coordinates language proficiency testing to identify students who qualify for English Language Development programs. Oversees and coordinates the curriculum, materials, and evaluation of the instructional programming for ENL and SIFE students with a vision for creating future-ready multilingual learners. Adapts and aligns current ELL/ENL/SIFE services to state and federal regulations, including compliance with CR Part 154 regulation, focusing on oversight of NYSITELL/NYSESLAT and other assessments. Leads the ENL department as they plan, develop, and maintain the multilingual programs, serving as a resource for administrators and staff in planning and revising curricula as needed. Plans, facilitates, and implements in-service workshops for staff development. Conducts the tri-annual ENL Services Audit. Supports the development and filing of the annual Comprehensive ELL Education Plan (CEEP). Manage all required translation services K-12. Coordinates required parent and family engagement activities (e.g., parent workshops and language acquisition classes for families) at least twice annually for each building. Oversees required transition services and support to former MLL students (similar to declassified Sped students). Works with the Office of Curriculum & Instruction to support all K-12 ELL/MLL/SIFE district initiatives. Conducts meetings with staff to coordinate district-wide activities, including disseminating and receiving information, planning and implementing activities/events, addressing operational issues, etc. Collaborates with building leadership to supervise ENL and SIFE staff; instruct and train staff when necessary; conduct performance evaluations and required observations. All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent of Schools.
