F.D. Roosevelt High School, part of the Hyde Park Central School District, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Business Education Teacher to join our team for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will teach courses that prepare students with practical business knowledge, financial literacy, accounting skills, career-readiness competencies, and be committed to creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Intro to Business, Accounting, and Career & Financial Management courses. Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student achievement and school goals. Incorporate instructional strategies that support Business Education Learners and students with varying learning needs. Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment. Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in professional development and school community events. Qualifications: Required: Valid New York State Teacher Certification in Business Education 7-12 or comparable CTE certifications will be considered Strong classroom management and communication skills Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with high school students Preferred: Familiarity with digital learning platforms and integrating technology into instruction Familiarity with restorative practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
