Job Title: Art Teacher Location: FDR High School Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary: The Hyde Park Central School District seeks a dynamic and creative Secondary Art Teacher to serve students in grades 9-12. This shared position will provide comprehensive visual arts instruction that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for artistic expression. The teacher will plan and deliver developmentally appropriate art lessons aligned with the New York State Learning Standards. This role includes teaching Fashion, including Introduction to Fashion and Advanced Fashion as well as other art electives . Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Visual Arts (K–12). Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education or related field. Experience teaching visual arts at the secondary level preferred. Ability to foster a culturally responsive classroom that celebrates diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Experience with fashion design, sewing, and/or fiber arts is desirable.
