The Hyde Park Central School District seeks a Teacher Aide to support classroom instruction and student learning under the supervision of a certified teacher. This role involves working closely with students individually or in small groups to reinforce instructional material, support classroom management, and help meet the educational needs of all learners in accordance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) guidelines.Our Portrait of a HPCSD Employee includes the following qualities: confident learner, effective communicator, adaptable innovator, critical thinker, and responsible citizen. Tentative Assignment: Netherwood Elementary School (subject to change)Key ResponsibilitiesProvide instructional support under the direction of a certified teacher.Assist with the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.Support students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 Plans.Assist with classroom management and organization.Utilize instructional technology and Google suite of products.Prepare instructional materials and maintain educational records as directed.Supervise students in various school settings, including classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and on field trips.Utilize behavior management strategies consistent with district policies.Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.Participate in professional development as required by the district and NYSED.QualificationsPrior experience working with school-aged children preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to follow teacher direction and collaborate effectively.Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.Basic understanding of instructional strategies and student development.Hyde Park Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
