Job Title: Art Teacher -Leave Replacement, High SchoolLocation: FDR High School Employment Type: Full-Time, one-year leavePosition Summary:The Hyde Park Central School District seeks a dynamic and creative Secondary Art Teacher to serve students in grades 9-12. This shared position will provide comprehensive visual arts instruction that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for artistic expression. The teacher will plan and deliver developmentally appropriate art lessons aligned with the New York State Learning Standards. It is a leave replacement position that will conclude at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.Qualifications:Valid New York State Certification in Visual Arts (K–12).Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education or related field.Experience teaching visual arts at the secondary level preferred.Ability to foster a culturally responsive classroom that celebrates diverse backgrounds and perspectives.Experience with fashion design, sewing, and/or fiber arts is desirable.
