Roosevelt High SchoolEffective: September 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026Key Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities that align with New York State art education standards.Teach a variety of art techniques, materials, and concepts, including art history, color theory, and composition.Foster students' creativity and exploration through hands-on art projects and activities.Student Engagement and Assessment:Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity.Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork and progress.Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including portfolios, projects, and exams.Collaboration and Professional Development:Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects.Stay updated on current trends and best practices in art education through professional development opportunities.Classroom Management:Maintain a safe and organized art classroom environment.Manage student behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.Keep accurate records of student attendance and progress.Required NYSEDCertification: Art or Visual Arts
