HEWLETT-WOODMERE PUBLIC SCHOOLS School Business Administrator Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools (HWPS) is located on the south shore of Long Island and is consistently ranked as one of the highest performing Districts on both state and national levels. The District educates close to 2800 Pre-K through 12th grade students across five schools with a budget of $150 million. Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools is dedicated to providing all students with enriching and exciting educational experiences in caring, student-centered environments. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated School Business Administrator. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations. Required qualifications : NYSED certification in administration (SDBL/SBA/SDA). Preferred qualifications : A CPA with experience in a public school accounting and business office administration. Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to municipal purchasing and student transportation. Familiarity with integrated school financial management software. Ability to search, understand, and interpret relevant NYS laws, regulations, and procedures. Understanding of school district state and federal fiscal record keeping, reporting, and fund accounting which includes knowledge of special aid, capital, extra classroom, and cafeteria accounting. Effective Date: On or about July 1, 2026 Key responsibilities: · Assist in the supervision of the Business and Transportation Departments · Assist in the development of the annual budget · Prepare and proof contracts for approval · Assist in the development of the public agenda · Assist in the administration of all capital projects · Administer Health & Welfare Services provided to non-public schools · Assist all auditors · Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls · Prepare reports for all funds · Implement all State Aid filings, and other ad hoc and required reporting · Prepares reimbursement claims for services provided to non-resident public and non-public school students · Establishes and maintains internal controls related to all business operations · Ability to analyze data and perform financial projections · Assist as an administrative liaison for the Board Audit Committee · All other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations Interested candidates must apply online by June 19, 2026 @ www.hewlett-woodmere.net Click on career opportunities and complete an OLAS application Equal Opportunity Employer
