Hewlett High School is seeking a Game Day and Competitive Cheer Coach for the Fall and Winter 2024-25 season.Must do both seasons.Organize and be present at practice/competitions 5-6 days per week for approximately 2 hours per. Attend all events for BOTH seasons.Ensure that all aspects of the program comply with the guidelines, rules and policies that have been established by the School District, League, Section, State and National Federation.Develop and communicate criteria for selection to appropriate teams.Formulate and submit team rosters and practice schedules to the Director of Athletics.Develop practice plans and game plans throughout the season designed to maximize and improve student performance in the sport. Work effectively with other coaches.Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program.Complete and submit all documents and reports in a timely manner.Display and encourage sportsmanship.Develop the program in a positive manner and serve as a role model for students.Evaluate team and individual performance to help with personal and team growth.Adjust practice and game plans to the strengths and skills of the team.Communicate effectively with students, parents, administration, and community.Must have First Aid/CPR/AED and NYSED coaching requirements.Submit resume to:David Viegas, Director of Health, PE & Athletics at: dviegas@hewlett-woodmere.net
