QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or auditing Minimum of 2 years of college education Two years of experience in maintaining the financial records and accounting within a school system or municipality preferred Ability to work independently, perform assigned tasks, and solve problems in a timely fashion with considerable tact Strong technology skills, including, but not limited to, Excel and Word Familiarity with Wincap preferred RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare all financial reports as required by the Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Personnel, and by the State and Federal agencies having jurisdiction over public school funds Attends Board of Education meetings Responsible for ACH payments, wire transfers, and wires of District funds Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monthly treasurer report for Board of Education Maintain the general ledger, cash receipts, and cash disbursements for all funds Prepare cash flow analysis as requested by the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Personnel Invest District funds Act as signatory on all District disbursements Manage all aspects of operating funds, reserve cash balances, investments, and borrowings (i.e. Tax Anticipation Notes) Gather information for official statements for all of the District’s notes (TAN & BAN) and bond issues Assist with budget preparation and management Assist internal and external auditors with the annual review Maintain the integrity of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting Prepare the annual financial report (ST3) and assist the Business Administrator or Assistant Business Manager with annual State Aid Claim documents Work with administrators on scholarship distributions Perform all other duties as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Personnel Applicants for this position require Civil Service clearance and must be fingerprinted.
