The Huntington School District seeks a highly motivated individual with the ability to lead and be responsible for the overall supervision and effectiveness of the K-12 Health and Physical Education programs, as well as oversee Athletics. Responsibilities : Provide leadership and oversight of the District’s Health, Physical Education, Interscholastic Athletics, and Driver Education programs. Supervise and support departmental personnel and provide evaluation/observation responsibilities as assigned. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the District’s interscholastic athletic program, including schedules, contests, coaches, officials, facilities, and related activities. Interview and recommend prospective teachers and athletic coaches, as needed. Coordinate departmental meetings and communicate regularly with administrators, teachers, coaches, and support staff. Ensure departmental programs and activities comply with applicable District policies and State and Section XI requirements. Serve as the District’s representative to Section XI and other appropriate athletic organizations. Assist with the administration of the departmental budget, purchasing, equipment, supplies, and facility needs. Oversee the appropriate use and scheduling of indoor and outdoor athletic facilities. Support implementation and compliance with the District’s AED and athletic safety procedures. Serve as a liaison with students, parents, staff, coaches, administrators, and community members regarding departmental and athletic matters. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee. Requisites: Candidates must demonstrate leadership ability and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in the performance of responsibilities. Valid NYS Certification in Physical Education and/or Health Education Valid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator or School District Leader Administrative experience preferred
