The district seeks a highly motivated individual with the ability to lead and be responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and effectiveness of the K–12 Science Program, district research initiatives, business education pathways, and internship opportunities. The Director reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Responsibilities:Work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, and support staff.Supervise and evaluate science and business education staff K–12.Interview and recommend prospective teachers and support personnel as openings occur.Develop, implement, and monitor science and business curricula and programs in conjunction with State/Federal guidelines and District priorities.Oversee the K–12 Science Research Program, including student mentorship, competition preparation, and partnerships with higher education and industry.Expand and oversee Business Pathways, including courses in entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and career-readiness skills.Work directly with advisors on the development and management district-wide internship and work-based learning opportunities for students in science, business, and related fields.Coordinate partnerships with local businesses, industry leaders, research institutions, and higher education to enhance experiential learning.Develop annual departmental objectives aligned with district strategic goals.Conduct departmental meetings and attend periodic after-school events or activities.Oversee departmental after-school programs, competitions, and community events related to science and business.Facilitate professional development and orientation of new staff in relevant subject areas.Collaborate with guidance, college & career, and work-based learning coordinators to align student pathways with postsecondary goals.Work with and be available for parents and students as needed.Support the implementation and monitoring of New York State Education Department (NYSED) Pathways to Graduation, ensuring alignment with state guidelines and access for all students.Collaborate with school leadership and counseling staff to develop and expand student access to multiple graduation pathways, including CTE, Arts, STEM, and CDOS options.Coordinate and facilitate internship and work-based learning opportunities aligned with students’ chosen graduation pathways, engaging with industry partners, local businesses, and community organizations.Analyze student data to track progress across graduation pathways and internship placements, informing program improvements and targeted student support.Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee. Requisites:Candidates must demonstrate leadership ability and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in the performance of responsibilities.Valid NYS Certification in science, business or a related field Valid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator or School District LeaderAdministrative experience preferred General: Salary and benefits for this position will be in accordance with the District School Principals Association (DSPA) contract
