The district seeks a highly motivated individual with the ability to lead and be responsible for the overall supervision and effectiveness of the K-12 Science Program and Instructional Technology. The District Director of Science & Instructional Technology reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Responsibilities:Work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and support staffSupervise and evaluate science staff K-12Interview and recommend prospective teachers and support personnel as openings occurDevelop, implement and monitor the science curriculum and programs in conjunction with State/Federal guidelines and District prioritiesDevelop annual departmental objectivesConduct departmental meetings and attend periodic after-school meetingsStaff development and the orientation of new staffOversee departmental after-school activitiesDevelop district-wide staff development proposals for implementing instructional technologyProvide staff training, assistance and encouragement with instructional technology, as neededSupervise tech mentors, if applicableSupport individual schools in identifying needs and acquisition of computer instructional softwareCoordinate software applications districtwideFacilitate broad usage of educational technology in curriculum and instructionOversee purchasing, distribution, maintenance and storage of instructional technology materials and equipmentConduct professional development workshopsWork with and be available for parents and students as neededOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee Requisites:Candidates must demonstrate leadership ability and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in the performance of responsibilities.Permanent NYS teaching certification in scienceValid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator or School District LeaderAdministrative experience preferred General: Salary and benefits for this position will be in accordance with the contract with the District School Principals Association (DSPA)
