Hunter-Tannersville is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Physical Education / Health Teacher to promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and overall student well-being. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, inclusive learning environment that supports students’ physical, social, and emotional development.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate physical education and health instruction aligned with state standardsPromote fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy decision-makingAssess and monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedbackMaintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environmentCollaborate with staff, administrators, and families to support student successManage equipment, facilities, and class routines effectivelyParticipate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunitiesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related fieldValid NYS teaching certification in Physical Education and/or Health (or eligibility)Strong classroom management and communication skillsAbility to motivate and engage students of diverse abilities and backgroundsCPR/First Aid certificationPreferred Qualifications:Experience teaching Physical Education and/or Health at the [elementary/middle/high school] levelCoaching experience or involvement in extracurricular activitiesKnowledge of current health and wellness education practices
