Hunter Tannersville Central School District (HTC) serves 326 students in the eastern Catskill Mountains. The immediate area boasts several outdoor activities, including Hunter Mountain Ski Resort, incredible hiking trails, and a 9-hole golf course. The district has an elementary building, grades PK - 6, and an MS/HS, grades 7-12. HTC is located in Greene County and is ranked the 3rd most equitable school district in the capital region. The community prides itself on maintaining small class sizes and, simultaneously, having the ability to offer a robust educational experience.This anticipated 12-month position requires a dynamic team-builder who has superior communication skills and comprehensive knowledge of instructional best practices. The principal must be well-rounded in curriculum and instruction, assessment, community building, organizational design, and systems thinking. The Principal will support the district's mission, core values, and strategic objectives while leading the elementary school.At least five years of successful teaching experience with appropriate NY certification School Building Leadership certification required (may also be School District Leadership certification)Exceptional knowledge of graduation requirements and a plan to improve graduation rates. Ability to lead the Multi-Tiered System of Support/Response to Intervention teamSpecial education experience and or working knowledgeKeen understanding of innovation and highly effective teaching practiceExcellent listening, oral, and written communication skillsA vision for continuous school improvementAbility to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and parentsExperience with implementing schoolwide procedures to reduce unwanted student behaviorInterested candidates should upload a letter of interest, resume, copy of teaching and leadership credentials, and 3 letters of reference to (OLAS link).
