Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced educational leader to join our team as High School Assistant Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Principal in the overall administration and supervision of the school. This includes conducting teacher observations, updating the course catalog, creating the master schedule, and providing professional development for teachers.Responsibilities:Maintain and update a comprehensive and rigorous course catalog that meets the diverse academic needs of our students, ensuring alignment with New York State standards and district curriculum guidelines.Create a master schedule that maximizes opportunities for students to enroll in desired courses and participate in extracurricular activities, optimizing the use of resources and staff time.Provide high-quality professional development for teachers that aligns with the district's instructional priorities and supports continuous improvement in teaching and learning.Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures.Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.Coordinate all state and local testing.Analyze student data to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement, informing instructional decision-making and intervention strategies.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress, school events, and other important information.Assist in the supervision and evaluation of teachers and support staff.Facilitate the planning and coordination of graduation ceremoniesServe as the 504 Chairperson.Promote a culture of belonging, joy, and academic excellence.Qualifications:Master's degree in Educational Leadership or a related field.Valid administrative certification.Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience at the high school level; building leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of effective instructional practices and current educational research.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Commitment to nurturing a sense of belonging and inclusivity within the school community.
