We seek an outstanding collaborator with experience working with students, parents and school staff.Specific skills, knowledge and abilities: Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of elementary education;Ability to acquire familiarity with the Education Laws of the State of New York, the Commissioner of Education Regulations Part 10 and Part 200 (Committee on Handicapped Procedures), and the policies, practices, functions and personnel of the District;Demonstrates abilities and competencies in curriculum research and development in accordance with the programs and goals established by the Board of Education;Ability to plan and supervise the work of the professional and ancillary staff;Ability to work effectively with all segments of the school community (staff, parents, pupils and community groups);Ability to present written and oral reports and recommendations clearly and concisely.Utilize instructional data analysis to modify and improve instruction and student achievement.Ability to work cooperatively with the Guidance Department, School Psychologist and Social Worker to ensure the social-emotional growth and well-being of all students.Supervises the NYS Assessments program and other standardized assessments administered to students.Conducts meetings of department heads, representing the administration in order to keep informed of the activities of the various departments.Responsible for the administrative detail to the custodians and their work and maintenance of the school plant.
