The Harborfields Central School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and collaborative educator for a 0.2 FTE English as a New Language teaching position combined with a 0.8 FTE Permanent Substitute assignment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of ENL instructional practices, language acquisition, differentiated instruction, and strategies to support English Language Learners in accessing grade-level curriculum. The candidate should be prepared to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, families, and administrators to meet the academic, linguistic, and social-emotional needs of students. In addition to the ENL teaching assignment, the successful candidate will serve as a 0.8 FTE Permanent Substitute, providing instructional coverage and support as needed within the building or district. Qualifications: New York State certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages required Experience working with English Language Learners preferred Strong knowledge of ENL instructional strategies, language acquisition, and differentiated instruction Ability to support students in developing academic language, literacy skills, and access to grade-level content Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators Flexibility and professionalism in supporting building and district needs through the permanent substitute component of the position Commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
