The Harborfields Central School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and collaborative Special Education Teacher for an anticipated probationary vacancy at Oldfield Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year. Candidates must hold appropriate New York State certification in Special Education and dual certification in either Mathematics or Science. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of adolescent learners, special education practices, differentiated instruction, IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and inclusive instructional supports. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and building administrators to support the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of middle school students. Qualifications: Appropriate New York State Special Education certification required Appropriate New York State certification in Mathematics or Science required Experience working with middle school students preferred Strong knowledge of IEP implementation, progress monitoring, differentiated instruction, and specially designed instruction Ability to support students in inclusive, resource room, and/or special class settings Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills Commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
