Description: The Harborfields Central School District is seeking caring and dependable Teaching Assistants – Special Education to support students with disabilities in a variety of instructional settings. Teaching Assistants work under the direction of a certified teacher to help students access instruction and develop academic, social, and behavioral skills. Primary Responsibilities Include: Support students with disabilities in classroom and small-group settings Assist with implementation of instructional activities and lesson plans Provide support aligned with students’ IEPs Assist with behavior support and supervision Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administrators Qualifications: Valid New York State Department of Education Teaching Assistant or classroom teaching certification required Experience working with students with disabilities preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, flexibility, and reliability Application Instructions: Qualified candidates must apply through OLAS and submit a resume and cover letter addressed to Milton Josephs, Executive Director of Human Resources .
