The Elementary School Social Worker (Grade 3-5) is responsible for providing social, emotional, and behavioral support to students in elementary school settings. This role involves collaborating with students, families, and school staff to promote students' well-being and academic success. The social worker will develop and implement programs to address social and emotional issues, provide counseling and support, and serve as a liaison between the school and community resources.The ideal candidate will possess the following:Experience working with children and families in an educational settingStrong interpersonal and communication skillsKnowledge of social and emotional development, CASEL standards, crisis intervention, and community resources.Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environmentAbility to develop intervention plans, measure progress and adjust accordinglyDesign and implement programs and initiatives aimed at promoting positive social and emotional developmentStay current with best practices, research, and trends in school social work and child developmentAppropriate training and NYSED certification required.
