ANTICIPATED ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR PUPIL PERSONNEL SERVICESEffective Date: July 2024 Certification: N.Y.S. School District Leader certificate required. The successful candidate should possess those personal and professional leadership qualities essential to supporting special education students, in addition to the following skills and qualities:Assists in reviewing and implementation of the district’s annual goals as they pertain to the Special Education Department.Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of professional development activities for the department’s faculty and staff.Conducts CSE and 504 meetings.Conducts observations and evaluations of the faculty and staff of the Special Education Department.Highly collaborative, results-oriented, adaptable, problem-solving self-starter, meet the social-emotional needs of families and staff.Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.Strong knowledge of Part 200 and Part 201 Regulations.Supervises the student evaluation and IEP development process to ensure compliance with district policies and NYS laws.Supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of Special Education instructional services. Works with principals and teachers in organizing and coordinating grade level and departmental meetings, in order to ensure consistency and continuity in the implementation of the instructional program for special education students from one level to the next.Prior administrative experience or exemplary classroom experience preferred.
